Aaron Scythe's distinctive decorative style is characterized by a rich language of images and patterns, heavily influenced by the Momoyama period in Japan. He aims to blend traditional elements with modern reflections to create innovative new works. His techniques breathe life into the clay.
Primarily self-taught, Aaron further honed his skills under the tutelage of Koie Ryoji in Japan. Since 2011, he and his family have resided in Whanganui, where his current work reflects his New Zealand and Māori heritage.
