The Hōhepa Candle initiative is a not-for-profit organization founded in the early 1980s at Hōhepa Clive with the mission to provide individualised support for intellectually disabled people.
Now in the Napier CBD, Hōhepa Creative Works is a vibrant studio focused on people and community, producing quality handmade products using an almost zero-waste process.
The candle making team produce natural products out of 100% locally sourced beeswax from Takapau Kintail Honey, which is purifying and detoxifying for the air when burned.
Since 2019 they have offered wax collection points for the public as an alternative of throwing wax in the rubbish. Sustainability is a core value at Hōhepa Hawke’s Bay and they are proud to do their bit in promoting sustainability and environmentally-friendly living at work.
